The Role We are now looking for an Associate Director of Governance to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. Your role will encompass leading our governance, risk, compliance, and audit functions. You will oversee our constitutional processes, board and committee support, risk management frameworks, and internal audits. This includes managing trustee elections, acting as Data Protection Officer, and supporting the President, Governance Boards, and Audit and Risk Committee. Driving a culture of professional excellence and continuous improvement, you will ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and lead the development of a single-entry process for handling complaints. Your role will also involve: - Motivating and developing the Governance, Risk & Compliance team - Managing corporate risk registers, insurance contracts, and business continuity planning - Aligning governance processes with Charity Commission guidance and GDPR regulations - Leading strategic projects - Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and governance-related reporting Person Specification To be considered, you will need: - Proven experience of working in a governance or legal environment at senior level - Experience managing and developing a team, including senior professionals - Experience managing projects across a number of teams - In-depth experience of professional body regulation, governance, and constitutional matters - Good working knowledge of GDPR and compliance requirements - To be Corporate Governance Institute part or fully qualified or have a governance professional qualification or equivalent experience Salary and Benefits - Competitive Salary - Flexible working (minimum of 40% of the time in the office) - Training and development - Work/life balance including 28 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays - Benefits including stakeholder pension scheme, life assurance, and private health cover - Miscellaneous extras Application The closing date for this role is 25th July 2025.
