The Role
The Senior Solution Architect leads the design and strategy of digital platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals. In this position you will set the architecture vision for digital products and services across web, mobile, and related channels, own the digital platform roadmap – including enabling AI capabilities as part of our digital transformation. The role focuses on cloud‑native architecture, API‑first design, and integration across systems, supporting agile and DevOps delivery. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and maintain architectural standards that enable innovation and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Define, own and communicate strategic technical vision and roadmap for digital platforms and AI capabilities, ensuring alignment with business strategy and customer needs.
* Lead the design of scalable, resilient digital solutions using cloud‑native technologies (Azure, AWS) and modern cloud services – microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), serverless computing.
* Govern API‑first design, defining and overseeing the full API lifecycle using API Management tools.
* Ensure interoperability across systems, minimising coupling and complexity.
* Collaborate with UX/UI and product teams to enable excellent user experiences for responsive, reliable front‑end interactions.
* Establish and enforce architecture governance, standards and reference patterns; maintain alignment with agile and DevOps workflows while staying current with industry best practices.
What You Bring
* Proven expertise in cloud‑native architectures, serverless, containers, and related cloud services; understanding of microservices, event‑driven, integration and API patterns (REST, GraphQL).
* Experience with agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
* Relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, AWS, Azure) are beneficial.
* Strategic mindset and commitment to continuous learning in emerging technologies.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
