Test Automation Engineer (Guardian Financial Services)

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our team.
What does a Test Automation Engineer do?
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will design, build and run automated tests that ensure our software is reliable, high-quality, and user-ready. You’ll partner with Developers, Quality and Business Analysts to define testing needs, create scalable test scripts and continuously improve how we test and deliver products.
We are modernizing our testing strategy by emphasizing automation as the foundation for scalability, efficiency and adaptability. Our approach fosters seamless collaboration, aligns testing with business goals, and drives continuous improvement. By embedding automation and quality at every stage, we deliver faster, reduce risk, and build greater delivery confidence.
Who are we looking for?
* Strong expertise in C# and .NET for building and maintaining automation frameworks and test scripts
* Solid understanding of Azure based microservices architecture, including APIs, messaging patterns, and distributed system interactions
* Ability to learn and adapt to newer niche technologies like Unite framework and build it into automation testing
* An appetite for continuous technology innovation, identifying and evaluating new opportunities to enhance Guardian’s proposition and customer experience
* Prior experience of working in the UK Financial Services Industry, ideally Life and Pensions
* Experience of providing technical leadership on complex integration projects
* Ability to work remotely with little management supervision
* Willingness to support and, where necessary, co‑ordinate the triage, identification and resolution of complex production and non‑production issues
