Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 (KS2) Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Chester from September. This is a full-time, fixed-term role running until the February half-term, with a strong possibility of extension through to the end of the academic year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to KS1 pupils, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting pupils’ academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and effective lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
* Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress
* Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider staff
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues
* Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities where appropriate
* Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures, and behaviour management standards

Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
* Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
* Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
* Excellent classroom management skills
* Passion for teaching and supporting young learners
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Desirable Criteria
* Experience teaching in Year 4-6
* Experience supporting phonics development (e.g., Read Write Inc. or similar programme)
* Strong understanding of formative assessment practices

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
