An exciting opportunity has arisen within Warwickshire Youth Justice Service (WYJS), for a family help practitioner, this will be a unique role which the successful candidate will help establish. The role is funded by the ministry of Justice Turnaround programme funding and will be a fixed term contract for 3 years with hopes that funding will be extended.

WYJS are a multi agency team rated GOOD in recent HMIP inspection, we are well integrated within Warwickshire Children’s Social Care and benefits from a robust restorative approach across the partnership. The successful candidate will have a dedicated focus on families whose children and young people are open to YJS prevention service-pathways.

This role is a dual role and will provide support to both parents/carers and their children and young people to address concerns at an earlier stage ,to prevent the escalation of offending behaviour. To ensure a think family approach is taken within the prevention service the successful candidate will offer practical and emotional support to parents, take part in parenting programme facilitation and offer consultation to youth work practitioners. They will also undertake assessments, collaboratively create intervention plans and undertake some direct work with children and young people aged 10-17 who are assigned to the Turnaround Programme. You will be supported throughout your role with training, quality supervision and strong links with other agencies. The position will be based Leamington Spa Justice Centre this is to ensure service support for the south of the county.
