A growing manufacturing business based in Altrincham are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who is looking to step into a broad role with genuine progression to Finance Manager.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function. This position will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is keen to develop their leadership and business partnering skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary
* Assist with the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts
* Analyse manufacturing costs, margins, and operational performance
* Produce financial reports to support decision-making across the business
* Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
* Partner with operational teams to improve financial understanding and performance
* Support the Finance Manager with continuous improvements to financial processes and controls
About You
* Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
* Experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment is advantageous
* Strong Excel and analytical skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
* Ambitious and keen to progress into a Finance Manager role in the future
