Service Team Leader - Main Dealer

2. Salary: Basic £30,000 ; OTE £35,000

Are you a motivated and experienced leader ready to steer a dynamic service team to success? We are seeking a talented Service Team Leader to join a reputable automotive service centre in Kidderminster. In this pivotal role, you will lead, motivate, and organise the service department to deliver outstanding customer service and operational efficiency, ensuring that every customer receives top-quality care and attention.
Key Responsibilities as a Service Team Leader:
4. Lead and organise the service department team, including Service Advisors, Senior Service Advisors, and Assistant Service Managers
5. Ensure all service processes are completed accurately and efficiently, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction
6. Act as a primary point of contact for customers, providing professional advice and resolving any issues promptly
7. Collaborate with workshop team members to schedule repairs and service jobs effectively
8. Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise department performance
9. Uphold health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment within the team
10. Manage administrative tasks related to service bookings, invoicing, and vehicle tracking in line with company procedures
Requirements needed for the Service Team Leader role
11. Proven experience as a Service Advisor, Senior Service Advisor, or Assistant Service Manager within an automotive environment
12. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and colleagues
14. Organised, proactive, and capable of prioritising competing demands
15. Customer-focused attitude with a problem-solving approach
16. Knowledge of automotive service processes and industry standards preferred
17. Valid driving licence preferable
18. Flexibility to work hours as required to meet service demands
19. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining safety standards
Nice to Have Skills:
20. Experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a busy dealership or service centre
21. Familiarity with service management software systems
22. Knowledge of health & safety regulations applicable to automotive service operations
Preferred Education and Experience
23. Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent; relevant industry qualifications are advantageous
24. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the automotive sector
