We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Worcestershire, supporting commercial and property services across the local region on apermanent basis.As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, valuations, and financial performance across a range of housing projects, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations.This is a great opportunity to join a busy, customer-focused organisation and make an immediate impact.Whats on offer:Rate: £46,887 plus a £1,300 car allowanceContract:PermanentLocation: WorcestershireAbout the Company:Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties acrossWorcestershire and the surrounding areas. They are committed to delivering high-quality homes, maintaining strong financial control, and providing excellent services to their tenants and communities.Key responsibilities include:
* Managing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reporting across multiple projects
* Preparing tender and contract documentation and supporting procurement processes
* Valuing works and managing interim and final accounts with contractors
* Monitoring project costs and identifying risks or opportunities to ensure cost efficiency
* Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual terms
* Working closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders
* Handling variations, change control processes, and dispute resolution where required
* Ensuring accurate record-keeping and financial tracking using internal systems
* Supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance programmes
The successful Quantity Surveyor will have:
* Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing or public sector projects
* A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of cost management, contracts, and procurement processes
* Experience managing contractor relationships and financial negotiations
* Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
* Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems
