Location: Central/Accessible Bristol

Role: Primary Specialist Class Teacher (Key Stage 2/Upper Primary)

Contract: Full:Time, Permanent or Temporary Basis

The Educational Mission in Bristol

Our school is dedicated to supporting Bristols young people who require a small, therapeutic, and nurturing environment. We focus on re:engaging students (typically Years 3:6, ages 7:11) who present with complex needs, including SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and SCLN.

The Specialist Setting:

Small Class Model: Maximum class size of 6 pupils, supported by one or two dedicated Teaching Assistants (TAs).

The Challenge: Students have an academic delay of 1 to 4 years, demanding highly creative, patient, and intensely differentiated teaching:the perfect environment for a QTS teacher to specialise and master their craft.

Core Responsibilities Include:

Creating Predictability: Implementing structured, low:arousal environments using tools like the now and next approach to build emotional regulation and independence.

Curriculum Adaptation: Planning and delivering a primary curriculum that effectively and creatively bridges significant attainment gaps using strong visual aids and therapeutic techniques.

Collaborative Practice: Working closely with an experienced team of TAs and our wider pastoral team to integrate therapeutic and educational goals effectively.

The Ideal Candidate MUST Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*

Demonstrable experience working with children presenting with SEMH, ASC, and/or complex learning needs in a primary setting.
*

A proven ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and therapeutically.
*

A creative, flexible approach and a deep commitment to making a positive, long:term difference.
