In partnership with a well respected charity, I am recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager to lead the operations of a 24-hour refuge in Leicester, providing a safe and supportive environment for women and children escaping domestic violence.
You will join a non-profit charity dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
As Refuge Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the service. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing staff rotas and team performance
* Budgeting and financial oversight
* Staff recruitment, training, and development
* Supporting residents with benefit claims and housing needs
* Maintaining accurate records and using internal systems
* Delivering presentations and building relationships with local authorities, community groups, and partner organisations
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
* Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in work with vulnerable people, especially domestic abuse victims, women, young people, and children
* Minimum of three years in a care or social welfare setting
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Fluent in English and at least one main BAME language
* Ability to work flexible and unsociable hours
* Listening and counselling skills
* Knowledge of multi-agency partnership working across statutory and voluntary sectors
* Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
* Clear Enhanced DBS check
