Overview
Clinical Nurse Specialist (RMN) – Permanent, Part Time (Mon - Fri plus on call). Salary: £47,307 – £54,710 based on 37.5 hours, dependent on experience. Hybrid working: based from our Head Office in Stockport, with clinical support to sites in Yorkshire; travel to services required. Applicants must be available on-site during working hours as required by the organisation, with flexible home-working around these times. Diaries are managed autonomously by individual practitioners based on service need. Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment and treatment services based on a comprehensive assessment of young people’s needs from multiple sources (psychological assessments, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, interviews with young people, families and others involved in care).
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedures.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary core team in risk management and case formulation for cases of concern.
* Collaborate with mental health services while maintaining safe and sensitive practice with service users with a full range of clinical needs and risk behaviours.
* Engage with highly complex clinical, professional and ethical challenges and respond effectively within the team.
* Provide weekly 1:1 sessions with each young person on caseload, support recovery-focused goal setting and care evaluation in line with the Care Programme Approach.
* Support the Young Person in identifying needs and priorities for recovery; implement interventions to promote independence; manage risk formulations and risk strategies to minimise harm while promoting choice and responsibility.
* Deliver therapeutic group work; provide on-call and duty cover as required; engage proactively with stakeholders.
* Screen referrals, assess suitability of new clients, deliver training, and supervise multi-agency professionals.
* Support systemic growth and development through involvement in working parties; conduct qualitative and quantitative audits; identify recurring themes and promote lessons learned to improve outcomes.
* Provide advice and consultation within the wider MDT; use outcome measures and feedback to improve clinical practice in line with governance agendas.
* Engage in joint assessments and treatments with members of the MDT; work across multiple settings and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Registered Nurse (RMN)
* Legislative knowledge and experience; evidence of continued professional development
* Experience of working with young people with complex mental health difficulties and neurodiversity
* Band 6 or above experience
* RNLD with relevant experience in mental health/trauma informed care (if applicable)
Desirable
* Case management experience within a health and social care setting
* Accredited safeguarding qualification
* Experience of working in a community setting
* Experience of working within a secure setting
