Salary: circa £75,000 Depending on Experience
Hybrid working pattern: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working.

The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to lead, support and grow a new group of software engineers delivering and supporting the Test Equipment Resource and Capability group within Bolton but also in Stevenage. This is a people leadership role where you have the responsibility for ensuring that software development teams have the capability, skills and capacity to support the business in delivering its commitments. You will favour collaborative, open approaches and have the ability to inspire others to achieve and exceed common goals and objectives.
Excellent leadership and communication skills combined with developing long-term relationships with stakeholders across the international software directorate and other business area are key to success in the role.

You will play a key role in the development and adoption of product line approaches including in multinational context.

There will be opportunities to collaborate and work with colleagues within the UK and at our sites in France and Italy.

What we're looking for from you: Being passionate about people - keen to understand what motivates your team and looking to encourage and inspire them to grow.
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and influence others is essential.
Comfortable coaching, mentoring and leading managers; your team of managers are responsible for delivery of software products into complex programmes where the software is a critical element.
Ideally (but not essential) you will have a degree in an engineering, science or maths discipline combined with experience in the development of product software.
Comfortable with change and understands the importance of continuous improvement within a modern software development team.
