Scientist – Real-World Evidence & Health Outcomes (Vaccines)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Pay Rate: £800 per day
Location: UK (Hybrid) | Global Biopharma Environment
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scientist in Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Health Outcomes to lead evidence generation activities for a globally significant pneumococcal vaccine programme.
This role will suit an experienced health economist or outcomes researcher with a strong background in vaccine value assessment, infectious disease modelling, or pneumococcal HEOR, who wants to influence public health decision-making through robust real-world evidence and economic insight.
The Role
You will design, execute, and deliver non-interventional and real-world studies to generate data that inform clinical, access, and policy decisions for vaccines. Working closely with medical, market access, and R&D colleagues, you’ll translate strategic evidence needs into impactful research that supports product development, launch, and ongoing value demonstration.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, design, and execution of multiple RWE or non-interventional studies across the vaccine lifecycle.
* Oversee quality and compliance of all study deliverables, including protocols, analysis plans, study reports, and scientific publications.
* Shape the data generation strategy to ensure alignment with clinical, market access, and health technology assessment (HTA) requirements.
* Apply expertise in vaccine economic modelling, burden-of-disease estimation, or real-world vaccine effectiveness studies.
* Identify and evaluate appropriate real-world data sources to address key evidence gaps.
* Communicate complex data clearly to internal stakeholders and external experts across medical, market access, and policy domains.
* Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure evidence generation is strategic, innovative, and impactful.
* Engage with thought leaders and scientific networks to maintain best practices in RWE and HEOR for vaccines.
About You
* MSc (or equivalent) in Health Economics, Epidemiology, Health Outcomes, Pharmacy, or related Life Sciences.
* 1–3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or consulting sector focused on RWE or HEOR.
* Experience in vaccine health economics, modelling, or pneumococcal value demonstration.
* Proven ability to manage studies and budgets within a cross-functional, global setting.
* Strong understanding of HTA and reimbursement decision-making processes.
* Excellent communication and data interpretation skills for diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD, PharmD, or equivalent in Health Outcomes, Health Economics, or Epidemiology.
* Experience supporting global or regional vaccine launches.
* Direct exposure to payer engagement or HTA submissions.
* Applied experience with dynamic transmission models or cost-effectiveness modelling for infectious diseases.
