Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner – Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
Job Summary
Exciting opportunity for an experienced RMN to join our expanding Perinatal Mental Health Team covering Bolton, Wigan, Salford, Bury. Seeking a compassionate, person‑centred individual with genuine interest in working with women and birthing people in the perinatal period, excellent communication and multi‑agency liaison skills. Training opportunities and robust supervision provided.
Main Duties
* Responsible for a caseload of women and birthing people experiencing perinatal mental illness, working in partnership with service users and other professionals.
* Manage and coordinate complex packages of care for mother/birthing person and infant.
* Complete routine and urgent assessments of mental health, risk and safeguarding in a variety of settings.
* Collaborate with Early Attachment, IAPT, maternity, health visiting and children’s services.
* Support the Referral/assessment system, including duty‑worker duties.
* Hold a valid driving licence due to expansive geography.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification (RMN/SW/OT); evidence of post‑registration development.
* Recent experience of providing mental health care in inpatient or community setting, or a generic CMHT demonstrating understanding of risk management.
Experience
* Desirable: experience working within a perinatal service; experience providing community mental health care for women in the perinatal period.

Employment Details
* Band 6; Salary £38,682 to £46,580 per annum pro rata.
* Permanent, full‑time.
* Location: Cluster 2 Perinatal – Manchester, M25 3BL.
