We are partnering with a Kent-based Council recruiting for a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their team on an initial temporary 3-month basis.
This is a full-time position with a negotiable rate, starting as soon as possible. The role is hybrid, requiring office and court attendance once a week.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing a caseload of Civil and Criminal Litigation, including advocacy
* Handling matters related to housing disrepair, possession, anti-social behavior, environmental protection, rent arrears, boundary disputes, fly-tipping, and homelessness
* Conducting advocacy in County Court and Magistrates Court, preparing bundles, and instructing counsel
* Negotiating costs and settlement agreements, and adhering to the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims
* Dealing with Environmental Protection Act claims, rent arrears civil claims, and boundary disputes
Working hours:
* 35 hours per week, with options for condensed hours
