Responsibilities
This role is in the Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Student Support Centre (SCC) within a mainstream school, working in specialised units to provide short‑term or part‑time placements for behavioural and emotional support.
You will support children at risk of exclusion (with or without an EHCP), re‑engaging them back into their mainstream school. The provision may, when suitable, provide options for a permanently excluded pupil.
To promote inclusion and improve outcomes for vulnerable children in Key Stage 1 and subsequently support and inform successful transition back into their own mainstream school.
You will work in partnership with schools, organising, delivering and evaluating learning for children, and involving parents/carers in the process. This involves working closely with the SENCOs, class teachers and support staff in a range of mainstream schools and linking with other agencies as appropriate.
Qualifications
A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate at Enhanced Level will be required for this post.
