The Opportunity
Based onsite at Glensanda Quarry, the largest granite quarry in Europe, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance Manager to join our team. This is a brand-new role, giving you the chance to make a real, lasting impact by leading and enhancing health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across a large-scale, complex operational site.
As part of a supportive operational team and with access to a centralised HSE function, youll act as the key on-site presence for all health and safety matters. Glensanda is a 6,000-acre site operating 24/7, with unique risks due to its remote location, the scale of its equipment, and the nature of its operations.
In this pivotal role, youll support our teams by embedding safe working practices, leading investigations, conducting audits, and developing tailored wellbeing programmes from occupational health assessments and mental health support to practical training sessions and safety workshops.
The site is accessible via Aggregate Industries private ferry from Benderloch, near Oban. You can choose to commute or stay onsite in free on-site accommodation, which includes en-suite rooms, a canteen, gym, sauna, and games room.
Who you are
You are a people-focused HSE professional, with a proactive mindset and a strong desire to help others work safely and stay well. Youll bring:
Health & Safety qualifications, such as IOSH or NEBOSH
Experience in occupational health, safety, or wellbeing within an industrial, operational, or engineering environment
Up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, and the ability to interpret and apply them effectively
A collaborative and empathetic approach to working with teams, with a focus on culture and engagement
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to lead initiatives and deliver training on-site
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
