Community Staff Nurse

Position: Band 5 Community Staff Nurse based at Highcliffe Medical Centre, Christchurch.
Full and part‑time hours available. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service.
Applicants must have a valid driving licence and access to a car. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Employment requires an Enhanced DBS check; the Trust will cover the cost.
Roles and responsibilities include:
* Wound care
* Palliative care
* IV drug administration
* Medication and injection administration
* Diabetes management
* Other diverse nursing duties as required
This is a full‑time vacancy. The successful candidate is expected to work weekends, late shifts (until 8 pm) and bank holidays on a pro‑rata basis.
Training and development are first‑class. Newly qualified staff will access a preceptorship programme and a clinical upskilling programme to support transition from student to RGN.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and Training
* Membership of the relevant Professional Body
* Learning and Assessing in Practice qualification or equivalent assessor training
* Evidence of recent professional development in an up‑to‑date portfolio
* Knowledge and understanding of the Trust’s strategy relevant to the role
Job Specific Experience
* Supervised experience gained during clinical placements
* Ability to mentor students / supervise other junior staff
* Experience of contributing to the management of change
* Demonstrable knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions in area of practice
* Experience of developing programmes of care for individuals or groups of patients/clients and of providing advice
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively
* Experience of demonstrating duties to junior staff
* Experience of providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff
Personal Attributes
* Evidence of demonstrating the Trust’s values and behaviours
* Able to communicate effectively at different organisational levels and with staff, patients, visitors or external organisations, both verbally and in writing
* Able to overcome barriers to understanding where there are physical or mental disabilities
* Able to analyse and assess situations and interpret potentially conflicting information to determine appropriate action
* Experience of planning and organising ongoing activities, including own time and that of junior staff and learners

£32,073 to £39,043 a year, pro rata for part time.
