We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive, and personable Lead Artist / Event Coordinator to run our paint and sip experiences across Belfast on a freelance, self-employed basis.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring full ownership of event delivery, outstanding guest experience, and flawless on-the-day execution. You will be the primary host and face of Easel Escape at events, responsible for setting the tone, energy, and overall standard of the experience.
Our events take place across a variety of venues throughout Belfast, so you must be confident working in different environments, adaptable to changing setups, and comfortable taking initiative without relying on a fixed studio space or rigid structure. A reliable means of transport is essential.
You will lead creative social events ranging from rtherapy art-focused sessions to high-energy private parties and corporate events of up to 50 participants, supported by an assistant where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and host paint and sip events for groups of up to 50 participants, ensuring a high-quality, engaging, and well-paced experience
* Deliver clear, step-by-step acrylic painting instruction, alongside one-to-one support and guidance where required
* Take full ownership of the event experience, including guest flow, atmosphere, timing, and overall delivery standard
* Proactively manage group energy to ensure guests feel welcomed, included, and engaged throughout the session
* Oversee full event setup and pack-down, ensuring all materials, tools, and venue spaces are prepared and maintained to a high standard
* Work confidently in fast-paced, informal environments where adaptability and initiative are essential
* Collaborate effectively with an assistant during events to ensure smooth coordination and execution
* Represent Easel Escape as the lead on-site host and brand ambassador
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a practising artist, with a strong portfolio demonstrating acrylic painting ability (required)
* Demonstrated experience in leading groups, events, workshops, hospitality, education, or other people-facing environments in a responsible or senior capacity
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage and manage groups of varying sizes and dynamics
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and maintain quality under pressure
* Natural leadership presence with the ability to take initiative and make decisions in real time
* Calm, composed, and solution-focused in fast-moving or unpredictable environments
* Experience in events, hospitality, facilitation, or customer experience roles is highly desirable
Requirements
* Must be available to host a minimum of 2 events per month (primarily weekends, especially Saturdays)
* Freelance/self-employed working arrangement
* Must be available to attend a paid trial event to assess suitability in a live environment
* Must be able to travel to various venues across Belfast (transport required)
* Base pay provided per event, with performance-based progression opportunities
* Training and onboarding will be provided for successful candidates
