Lead Electrical Engineer – Control Systems Design

VIQU have partnered with a major energy systems integrator delivering digital transformation and control solutions across the UK's critical infrastructure. You'll lead electrical and control systems design projects for power generation, transmission, and large industrial environments – combining hands-on technical design with project leadership.
What You'll Do
Lead and deliver full project lifecycle electrical & control system designs – from concept to commissioning. You'll design control panels, MCCs, cabling, drives, switchgear and ensure all systems meet safety and regulatory standards. Expect to guide project teams, review drawings, conduct site surveys, and support FAT/SAT testing.
What You'll Need
* Strong background in control systems design within energy, utilities, or process industries
* Proven experience in control panel design (PLC, I/O, comms, UPS, instrumentation)
* Knowledge of field cabling, earthing, and protection systems
* Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering (5+ years experience)
* Proficient in AutoCAD with full understanding of the project lifecycle
* Eligibility for UK security clearance & full driving licence
Desirables
Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider PLC platforms, MCCs, BS7671 18th Edition, Functional Safety (IEC 61508/61511), or DSEAR exposure.
