We are working with a Tier 1 contractor based in Bristol to recruit a Design Manager to join the team.
The contractor is a national brand with a strong reputation in the education, public sector, leisure and commercial markets, and provides opportunities for career growth.
The role covers the Bristol region and surrounding areas, including South Wales and the South West down to Exeter and Plymouth.
Key responsibilities:
* Early involvement at tender and bid stage, working with estimating and commercial teams to conduct detailed investigations and develop robust tender packages.
* Managing the design process from tender, through award, and onto construction, ensuring quality, compliance and cost control.
* Providing evidence-based advice, conducting risk and cost evaluations, and leading the framework scheme work.
* Coordinating between client, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, managing RFIs, variation processes, CDM regulations and commissioning.
Qualifications and experience:
* Experience with Tier 1 or larger regional contractors on schemes above £10 million with both Design‑and‑Build and traditional framework negotiations.
* Strong organisational, detail‑oriented skills and proven ability to identify opportunities and mitigate potential issues.
* Demonstrated leadership in managing cross‑functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
