Offer description

A vacancy has arisen for a FS/MAcr/WO (Any Profession) to serve as Harassment Investigation Officer at RAF High Wycombe on Volunteer ex-Regular Reserve Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) (90 Days), with an initial proposed start date of 06 April 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). Remote working arrangements may be available to allow working from an Alternative Working Address and will be open to negotiation, depending upon the needs of the Service and the individual. The Service Complaint Investigation Team (SCIT) forms part of the Service Complaints Team (SCT) which is based at HQ Air Cmd. Working mostly from home or mobile at various RAF Units as required, the Investigating Officer will conduct investigation work in support of Bullying and Harassment and complex Service Complaints (SCs) including: Planning and conducting a thorough investigation in accordance with the Terms of Reference issued by the Decision Body (DB) or Appeal Body (AB) in order to give them a full appreciation of the substance of the SC. Liaising with those involved in the complaint such as the Complainant, Respondent(s) and witnesses, as well as the DB/AB, originating unit’s Specified Officer, unit HR staffs and other SMEs as required. Maintaining comprehensive records of all interviews, discussions, instructions issued and actions taken in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 18) and in the format directed by the SCT Investigation Co-ord. Keeping the DB/AB, unit HR staff, SCT Case Manager and OC SCIT informed of the progression of the investigation, particularly if the agreed timescales cannot be met. Upon completion of the investigation, producing an investigation report and all associated evidence, in the approved format, ready for disclosure and submission to the DB/AB. Must be able to travel to HQ Air for training, briefings, and liaison and to other MoD units or nearby locations as required in the course of investigations. Initial and refresher training and an annual conference are to be attended, each being approximately a day in duration.
