Amazon is seeking a collaborative electrical maintenance professional for our AWS Data Centre team. This position involves operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The role requires ensuring equipment uptime of over 99.999%, troubleshooting, and supporting operational cost reductions.
The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is the front-line responder for electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, handling equipment such as standby diesel generators, switchboards, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. The role requires 24/7 shift coverage, which may include 12-hour shifts, rotating schedules, and varying work weeks.

Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
* Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
* Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power, PDU, and ATS replacements
* Support Data Centre Operations technicians
* Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures
* Follow all safety procedures during work
* Work 12-hour shifts, including rotating days or nights
* Record operational data during rounds (temperatures, voltages, currents)
* Manage workflows and inventory using internal CMMS
* Supervise contractors performing maintenance
* Respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations
* Comply with security procedures
* This role involves night shifts

Basic Qualifications
* Commutable to the Thames Valley Region
* Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces with accommodations if needed
* Technical training (military or trade school) or relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
* 2+ years of Data Centre Engineering experience
All candidates need a valid driver’s license, their own vehicle, and must pass a driving record check. Travel between sites may be required.
