Overview
Infrastructure Engineer role at Fleet Mortgages. This role will be responsible for providing high level technical support to the business, ensuring effective resolution of complex IT issues and the design, implementation, and maintenance of software, hardware and infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
* Maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, and networks across our on-prem and cloud estate.
* Act as technical lead on key business projects, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and alignment with strategic objectives. Oversee technical planning, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
* Plan, design and implement infrastructure solutions across servers, storage, networks and cloud environments; act as system administrator for physical/virtual servers and cloud, PaaS and SaaS.
* Implement security measures, patching and controls in line with industry best practices, in coordination with the IT Security team.
* Respond to incidents and monitor security as part of cyber security best practices; collaborate with the IT Security team and third-party support where needed.
* Provide technical direction for IT projects and ensure comprehensive technical documentation for all systems.
* Develop and provide training to Support Engineers to enhance technical skills, and assist in creating documentation and knowledge sharing.
* Work with key business stakeholders to identify and implement efficiencies in line with continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and data protection laws. May require non-typical office hours to support patching, software upgrades and system releases.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, ideally in a similar role
* Strong knowledge of Azure services (Entra ID, Defender 365, Sentinel, Intune, Azure networking, Azure storage)
* Experience with Anti Virus/EDR solutions
* Proficient in virtualization technologies (Azure Virtual Machines, VMware/Hyper-V)
* Solid understanding of IAM concepts (PIM, SCIM, SSO conditional access and PAM)
* Windows OS experience (Windows 11, Windows Server), managing Active Directory and Group Policy
* Strong knowledge of backup solutions (Azure backup, 365 backups, Veeam)
* Solid understanding of networking concepts; Next Gen firewall configuration and maintenance
* Understanding of IPsec and encryption standards; Zero trust networking
* Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
* Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS)
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
* Experience with Change management, Problem management and major incident management practices
* Experience implementing and maintaining mail and web filters (Mimecast, Z-Scaler, Proofpoint, Twingate)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery focused solutions
* Willingness to stay informed on current IT trends and continually develop skills
