Quantity Surveyor - Civils - Glasgow
Hybrid Quantity Surveyor position – Civils – Glasgow. We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 Civils contractor in the East side Glasgow. This is a full‑time role that offers hybrid working between home and office.
In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for all commercial matters within the account, working in close collaboration with Project Managers, Finance, and Delivery teams. You’ll partner with finance colleagues to ensure robust cost control across projects and support Project Managers in monitoring budgets and forecasting.
The ideal candidate has experience running their own projects and understands commercial, contractual, legal, budgets, subcontract management, and client facing responsibilities.
* Ideally commercially trained; other relatable degrees (engineering) are considered
* Must have project lead experience
* Must have experience managing client, subcontractors, and suppliers alike
What You’ll Do
* Robust commercial management of subcontractors and supply‑chain partners, including the preparation, review and evaluation of subcontract enquiries, quotations, and payments, final accounts and input to dispute resolution.
* Ensure Applications for Payment are submitted on time and recover full entitlement for all works and variations.
* Timely issuing of all notices required under the Contract(s).
* Support the CVR reporting process.
* Ensure compliance with the client’s systems, processes and procedures to deliver post‑contract management.
What You’ll Bring
* A strong understanding of commercial reporting and implementation, supported by excellent stakeholder management skills.
* A proven track record in a similar role, giving you confidence to be self‑sufficient and work on your own initiative.
* Desirable previous experience in the civil engineering industry.
