The Role As a Youth Worker in this specialist setting, you will: Build positive, meaningful relationships with pupils aged 4–11 with a range of needs, including ASD, communication difficulties, learning delays, SEMH needs, and sensory differences. Provide 1:1 mentoring, small-group support, and pastoral guidance. Support emotional regulation, social development, behaviour, and engagement in learning. Promote confidence, independence, and life skills throughout the school day. Assist the class team with daily routines and provide a calm, consistent presence. Adapt to pupils’ changing emotional or behavioural needs with patience and understanding. Support with personal care and moving & handling where required (training can be provided).
