The Orthopaedic Therapy Team is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Rehabilitation Assistant to join our integrated group of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants. We work with orthopaedic patients of all ages, supporting individuals recovering from elective surgery or traumatic injuries as they progress through their rehabilitation journey. In this role, you'll work closely with our therapists to deliver treatment plans on the ward and play an active part in assessing patients at the pre-operative stage within our outpatient clinic. We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Previous experience in a similar role is essential. Comprehensive training will be provided to help you achieve the competencies required for this position.
Responsibilities
* To be responsible for progressing treatment following regimes or guidelines.
* To discharge case simple patients when they have achieved their goals.
* To contribute to discharge planning including MDT meetings.
* To participate in the orthopaedic weekend working scheme.
* To assist the therapists with any patient that requires more than one person to treat or mobilise.
* To carry out and to supervise exercise regimes and treatment programmes the therapist has prescribed.
* To be involved, where necessary, with the washing, dressing and personal care of patients, and cleaning of equipment.
