Scot JCB Group is looking for a skilled plant engineer to join our growing team of field engineers based in or around the Stockport or Manchester areas.
This field‑based role requires traveling to customer sites, repairing and maintaining plant machinery, identifying faults, and completing accurate paperwork.
Salary: Competitive base rate plus overtime and bonus.
Responsibilities
* Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification.
* Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines.
* Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet.
* Submitting daily timesheets and job cards.
* Accurately ordering parts and working closely with the parts department.
* Working closely with the service supervisor.
* Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at the depot as required – in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and relevant regulations.
* Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications such as City and Guilds, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / Agricultural / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential).
Required Skills
* Experience in plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
* Experience working on JCB Loadalls would be advantageous.
* The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment.
* Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with customers.
* A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work.
