Role: Waking Night Support Worker
Location: Across the North-West of England and North Wales
Pay: £16+ per hour + Travel Expenses @ 25p/Mile
Hours:
* 8pm-8am
About the role
As a waking night support worker, you will be working with children and young people with a range of Mental Health issues on a 2 to 1 basis. You'll encourage and support the service user with evening activities and provide physical and emotional care throughout the night. Previous experience within a similar role is essential.
Duties include:
* You will be required to ensure that children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care possible and to assist them reaching their fullest potential.
* Waking Night staff are responsible for ensuring the home is secure during the night and should the children or young person awake, that they have a friendly face to support them and deal with any issues.
* To ensure children's safety and well-being is appropriately protected at all times
* To provide high standard help, care and support
* To enable clients / families or children and young people (as appropriate) to enjoy a range of food and support them to buy their food from various places including markets/ super-markets or specialist shops
The young people involved in these placements can have a range of needs, including:
* Challenging & aggressive behaviour
* Learning disability
* Autistic Spectrum Condition
* ADHD
* Personality Disorder
* Self-Injury
* M.H diagnosis
* Victims of the range of abuses
* Inappropriate behaviours
Criteria for these roles are:
* Child and Adult DBS - on the update service
* 1 year minimum experience in a similar role
* NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent (desirable not essential)
* References covering the last 3 years
