About the Role
You will join a small but growing backend engineering team and play a key role in building the services that power our payments platform. With the product growing at a rapid rate, you will tackle complex technical challenges and build systems that are robust, scalable and reliable.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement and maintain backend services supporting a customer‑facing platform and third‑party integrations.
* Write clean, efficient, maintainable code following best practices and team standards.
* Drive delivery of mid‑level features from design to deployment, ensuring quality and stability.
* Develop and maintain a robust suite of unit and integration tests to support service reliability.
* Improve automation efforts, testing frameworks and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
* Work cross‑functionally with product teams, analysts and engineers to deliver well‑rounded, effective solutions.
* Participate in architectural and technical discussions, contributing ideas for system design and process improvements.
* Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.
* Stay current with modern development tools, technologies and industry standards.
* Actively engage in retrospectives and knowledge‑sharing sessions to foster continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Strong experience as a Backend Engineer.
* Experience with Java, Kotlin, Typescript and AWS.
* Experience with SQL, SQS and NoSQL.
* Experience with Kubernetes.
* Understanding of platform engineering / DevOps.
* Bonus: experience with gRPC or other languages.
