A vacancy has arisen within our Estates and Facilities Services Directorate, where our teams are committed to providing safe and effective patient care while working alongside colleagues to deliver excellent facilities for patients, staff, and visitors.
We are seeking individuals who demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude and possess the qualities of a caring professional within the NHS. We are recruiting caring, positive, and dependable people for the role of a Catering Assistant.
Our Catering Assistants play a vital role in hospital operations, working in the main kitchen to handle all catering responsibilities. The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and environmental safety. Typical duties include assisting with the preparation, plating, and service of patient meals, ensuring food quality, and cleaning catering equipment after meal service to keep kitchens clean and tidy. Being a team player is essential for this role.
While comprehensive training will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge, we are interested in how your application demonstrates your ability to meet or exceed the minimum criteria outlined in our person specification. We support ongoing staff development through regular training sessions, which may sometimes occur during non-working days due to shift patterns; in such cases, you will receive time off in lieu or additional pay.
The successful candidate will work on a shift rotation basis, with hours from 15:45 to 20:00 within our Catering Department.
