About the Role
Vetro Education is looking for a passionate and supportive Turkish-speaking Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Port Talbot.
This role will involve providing support to pupils across the school, with a focus on helping children who speak Turkish or have English as an additional language (EAL). You’ll play a key part in helping pupils settle into school life, develop their English skills, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils’ learning in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.

Provide one-to-one or small group support for Turkish-speaking pupils.
*
Help pupils with English language development and understanding classroom instructions.
*
Assist with classroom preparation and general teaching activities.
*
Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and confidence in learning.
*
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met.
Requirements
*
Fluency in Turkish and English (spoken and written).
*
Previous experience working with children or in an educational environment.
*
A caring, patient, and proactive attitude.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
*
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential).
