The Role:
As a Domestic Supervisor within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety across our healthcare environments. You will support the delivery of essential services that directly impact patient care and experience, working closely with teams across hospitals and community sites. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
* Vale of Leven General Hospital
* Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 14:15, or 09:45 to 17:00
* Nights and weekend working
* Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part‑time hours
Key responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage domestic staff on a day‑to‑day basis, ensuring high standards of service delivery
* Plan, organise and allocate staff resources to meet service needs across wards and departments
* Monitor cleaning standards and carry out inspections, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
* Support recruitment, induction, training and development of domestic staff
* Manage staff rotas, attendance, leave records and payroll information accurately
* Control stock, equipment and cleaning materials, ensuring safe and efficient use
* Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety regulations and respond to any issues
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
* City and Guilds Cleaning Science qualification or equivalent relevant training
* Experience in supervising or leading staff within a cleaning or facilities environment
* Knowledge of infection control procedures and health and safety regulations
* Experience using industrial cleaning equipment and understanding of cleaning standards
* Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing demands
* Ability to deal with sensitive staffing issues professionally and work independently when required
