We are currently inviting applications for the role of Hotel Porter to join our Portering team. This is a full time role, as the hotel is open all year round.

The scope of this role is to assist in general duties in Conference & Banqueting, Food & Beverage departments and Front Office areas of the hotel.

In this role you will be rostered to work 5 days with 2 days off. The working hours will vary depending on business requirements. Weekends and public holidays will be part of the working week.

Communication with all departments is vital as well as dealing with customers who are here in the hotel for various reasons.

You will be involved in set up and break down of a variety of meeting room set ups on a daily basis.

About The Role

The role of the Porter is a varied one, which involved the following duties:

• To ensure all meeting & function rooms are set up to the agreed standard and per client specifications

• To ensure that all meeting and function rooms are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards at all times

• To ensure that all refreshment or catering requirements are met to the agreed standard and per client specifications

• To ensure that signage is in place for all daily meetings / conferences

• To assist with care and maintenance of all equipment and to report any defects to the supervisor or manager.

• To provide luggage porterage service when required

• To complete daily cleaning duties of the exterior of the building as instructed

• To assist with any guest requirements that arise on a day to day basis

• To assist the Food & Beverage department with Food service where the need arises

• To ensure that all conference and banqueting storage areas are kept clean, tidy and free from hazards at all times

* Required to carry out other duties as requested to you by a member of management

Required Criteria

* Previous experience in a similar role in a busy 4 star hotel
* Must be fluent in English
* Must be able to work flexible hours/days
* Must have excellent communication skills
