Early Years Practitioner Corstorphine Primary School Nursery Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 per year Hours: 36 per week Working pattern: Monday to Friday with start and finish times to be confirmed at interview, The Nursery operates between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday so early and late shifts will be included. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our Early Years/First Level team. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing EYP team to assist in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for children aged 3-5 years at Corstorphine Primary School Nursery. Corstorphine Primary School and Nursery are situated in the vibrant village of Corstorphine within the City of Edinburgh. We strive to create a nurturing and safe environment where our children lead their own learning and develop as individuals in a supportive and challenging ethos. We provide a stimulating environment for children to create, explore and learn through play so they develop a love of learning as their understanding of the world around them grows. Our staff and children are: Kind Inclusive Trustworthy and Honest We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who has experience of leading within an Early Years setting. A well-developed knowledge and understanding of current national guidance relating to early learning and childcare is essential and the successful candidate should be able to evidence this within their practice. The successful candidate will hold, as a minimum, an HNC in Childcare and Education (or equivalent). You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and learning. Strong team working and a clear vision are crucial to this role. This would be a great opportunity for someone to develop their leadership skills and a secondment would be considered with the permission of your current employer. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
