*Overview*We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our preschool. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. The Deputy Manager will support the overall running of the pre-school, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.*Duties** Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the nursery, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.* Lead and supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to foster a positive team environment.* Plan, implement, and evaluate educational programmes tailored to children’s developmental needs.* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery environment.* Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare that promotes early childhood development.* Engage with parents and carers to communicate children's progress and address any concerns effectively.* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to childcare.* Organise staff rotas, oversee training sessions, and facilitate ongoing professional development.* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.*Qualifications** Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting.* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.* Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments.* Knowledge of nursery regulations and safeguarding procedures.* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.* Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are essential.* Experience with children’s developmental needs and activities is essential.* Valid driving licence is desirable for travel between centres or community engagement activities.
