The Role
As a Junior Building Services Engineer, you will support the maintenance and operation of critical infrastructure that underpins essential defence operations while developing your technical skills and experience.
Day-to-day, you’ll assist with planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, gaining hands-on experience with building services, plant and equipment while being supported by an experienced team.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting installation, planned, preventative and corrective maintenance across site services, plant and buildings
2. Assisting with fault finding and basic diagnostics across electrical systems
3. Working with the wider team to prioritise maintenance activities
4. Supporting compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures and standards
5. Assisting with contractor supervision and learning site processes
Participating in the on-call rota with training and support
Essential experience of the Junior Building Services Engineer:
6. Strong interest in building services or electrical engineering
7. Basic understanding of electrical systems
8. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
10. Positive attitude and proactive approach to work
11. Good communication skills
Essential qualifications for the Junior Building Services Engineer:
12. BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
13. City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent
14. NVQ Level 3 / ONC / OND / BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
15. Full UK driving licence

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Pendine site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Set working times are 07:30 – 16:15 Monday to Thursday. Working 07:30 – 15:45 on the first Friday with the second Friday off or a half-day Friday pattern may be considered. Shift patterns for this role may include participation in an on-call rota and weekend working.
