A friendly and well-established mainstream primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role will involve supporting nursery-aged children, including those with special educational needs (SEN), providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a diverse and supportive setting.
About the Role
As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities for nursery-aged children
• Work closely with SEN pupils, providing targeted support to meet their individual learning and development needs
• Assist with daily routines, including snack times, personal care, and play
• Help develop children’s early literacy, numeracy, and social skills through structured and creative activities
• Observe, support, and record children’s progress in line with school policies
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• Contribute to the wider life of the school
What We’re Looking For
• CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Early Years (essential)
• Experience working in a nursery or early years setting, ideally within a mainstream school
• Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable
• Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a caring approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
