Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our Residents, this will include Moving and Handling using our Hoists and equipment, Dementia Residents and some who have mild Learning disabilities. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our Residents by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Duties
* Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide patient care and support in accordance with care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Monitor vital signs and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
* Maintain cleanliness in living spaces and assist with light housekeeping tasks.
* Support individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care.
* Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement effective care strategies.
* Document patient observations and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
* Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred, but not essential as training will be provided
* Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus.
* Strong skills in patient observation and monitoring are essential.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient assistance.
* Familiarity with caregiving practices, including meal preparation and cleaning duties.
* Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are vital for success in this role.
* A background in Residential Care can be beneficial but is not mandatory as full training will be provided.
