Maintenance Manager (Multi‑Skilled)

Shift pattern:
Mon‑Thurs: 08:00 – 17:00
Fri: 08:00 – 14:00 (early finish!)
39.5 hours per week
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands‑on Maintenance Manager to join a growing and forward‑thinking manufacturing business based in Oldbury. Operating at the cutting edge of manual and robotic wet paint applications, this company supports a diverse client base across sectors including automotive, defence, medical, and consumer goods.
Due to continued growth and internal restructuring, the business is strengthening its engineering function and is looking for a driven leader to take ownership of maintenance operations across two sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all planned and reactive maintenance activities
* Own and develop the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule
* Deliver and oversee engineering projects from concept through to completion
* Provide regular reports on monthly engineering performance and objectives
* Drive improvements in equipment performance and overall site efficiency
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are consistently met and maintained
* Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across the business
Engineering Expertise
* Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background
* Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings
* Experience in fault finding on pumps, motors, and related systems
* Knowledge of pneumatics and fluid logic systems
* Background in automotive or paint processes (highly desirable)
* Experience with ABB robotics (advantageous but not essential)
Leadership & Management
* Proven ability to manage projects and drive improvements
* Experience managing or using Excel‑based PM systems
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
* Calm under pressure with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
* Committed to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment
Additional Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Flexible approach, including:
o Supporting across two sites when required
o Occasional overtime and call‑outs
o Providing holiday/shift cover when needed
