Science Teacher
Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time Science Teacher based in Hull, starting 2nd September 2025, and lasting initially until October half term 2025. This is a temporary position to cover a planned absence. There is potential that this booking could continue onwards after October half term until Easter 2026, but on a part time (3 days per week basis). Payment for this position will be in line with the main teaching pay scale, between £31,650 and £49084 (this may change if pay scales increase in the new academic year).
This role will involve teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, and will involve all the planning and marking associated with a teaching role. Currently, there is no science specialism that is required as there is time to move things around with existing staff members to accommodate any science specialist. You will be provided with a thorough scheme of work and resources available, so the level of planning required should be minimal. Ideally, a practitioner that feels comfortable performing practical lessons with the students is ideal for this role. With the role initially just being for one half term, ECTs are encouraged to apply but cannot be put through the ECT for just the half term. If the role extends beyond this time until Easter (on a part time basis) as is possible, then there may be the potential to complete a term of the ECT. This is a highly established science department with a wealth of experience and teaching expertise, who value sharing good practice.
