Job overview

Are you an experienced manager or leader within a community mental health setting? Do you have experience or an interest in working with Children, Young People and Families? Then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for passionate, skilled professionals from a Nursing, Social Work (with additional mental health training), or Occupational Therapy background.

We are excited to be recruiting a Community Team Manager to join our dynamic Central Norfolk CAMH Service at a time of genuine transformation and innovation.

Our service is evolving as part of a wider commitment to improve pathways for young people. We are transitioning towards a new model where our CAMHS teams will support children and young people 0–18 year olds. This creates a unique opportunity to be part of shaping a modern, responsive mental health service for young people and young adults.

If you’re motivated to be part of a forward‑thinking service and want to help shape the future of mental health care for young people, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary community team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high‑quality care to children, young people, and their families.

You will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day service delivery, managing performance, and ensuring that care is responsive, evidence‑based, and aligned with national and local standards.

You will lead, support, and develop a diverse team of practitioners, fostering a positive and inclusive culture that promotes staff wellbeing, continuous learning, and professional development. This includes supervising staff, managing caseloads, and ensuring effective risk management and safeguarding practices are embedded across the service.

Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including education, social care, and third‑sector partners, you will contribute to integrated care planning and service improvement initiatives.

You will also play a key role in strategic planning, implementing service developments, and ensuring the efficient use of resources to meet demand.

Additionally, you will monitor and report on key performance indicators, support quality assurance processes, and drive improvements to enhance patient outcomes and experience. Your leadership will ensure that the service remains responsive to the needs of the local population while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.

Working for our organisation

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who love sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
