Project Engineering Lead
Partnering with Leonardo Electronics UK’s Integrated Sensing and Protection (ISP) Line of Business, the Project Engineering Lead drives the engineering solution across a portfolio of projects, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual and legislative requirements while managing cross‑disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead multi‑disciplined engineering teams across multiple projects, delivering engineering output within time, cost and performance budgets.
* Generate clear engineering plans, establish milestones, identify risks and opportunities, and manage interdependencies.
* Review current engineering positions on projects, adapt plans to mitigate risks affecting cost, schedule or performance.
* Prepare and communicate monthly engineering status reports to line managers.
* Coordinate engineering input into bids as part of the business‑winning process.
* Represent engineering on the multi‑functional management team, attending weekly and monthly progress and reporting meetings.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
* Degree in engineering or related subject (essential).
* Experience managing or leading multi‑disciplined engineering teams (essential).
* Strong understanding and proven track record of engineering lifecycles and processes (essential).
* Experience in developing hardware electronics, firmware and mechanical products (desirable).
* Experience collaborating with external partners on development activities (desirable).
* Experience in defence or aerospace industry (desirable).
