Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Warehouse Managerto work for a our client in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
Role: Dispatch Operative
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum
Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Key Responsibilities of the Dispatch Operative:
1. Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shippin
2. Manage a team of 6-10 warehouse staff: recruitment, training, scheduling performance reviews
3. Maintain inventory accuracy through data entry, regular cycle counts, and reconciliation with our Warehouse Management System (WMS)
4. Implement and enforce health & safety policies, ensuring 100% compliance with HSE standards
5. Liaise with operations, transport planners, and our customers to meet service-level agreements (SLAs)
6. Manage equipment maintenance schedules and liaise with external contractors for repairs to ensure Verran Freight are compliant with policies and procedures
About you:
7. Proven experience (3+ years) as a Warehouse Supervisor/Manager in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment
8. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems
9. Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to develop, coach, and motivate a frontline team
10. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive under pressure
11. Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail
12. Strong communication skills—able to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, and delivery drivers
13. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word,)

15. Forklift licence
