Day/Night and weekend shifts available.
Key Responsibilities:
Attach Loads: Secure lifting equipment (chains, slings, shackles, etc.) to loads before they are lifted by cranes or other machinery.
Signal Crane Operators: Use hand signals, radios, or other communication methods to guide crane operators during lifting and positioning of loads.
Ensure Load Safety: Check that the load is balanced, stable, and safely attached before signalling for a lift.
Maintain Clear Zones: Make sure lifting areas are clear of people and obstructions.
Assist with Positioning: Guide the load safely into position using tag lines or direct signalling.
Inspect Equipment: Check lifting accessories for damage or wear and report any defects.
Follow Safety Procedures: Ensure all lifting operations comply with health and safety regulations.
Risk Assessment: Identify and manage risks in lifting operations.
Essential requirements for the role
NVQ/SVQ level 2
Marine experience
Full SC and disclosure Scotland
