Job overview

We are recruiting for a part time Resuscitation Officer to join our team and support planning, organisation and delivery of basic life support, intermediate life support, advanced life support and associated training throughout the Trust.

This is an ideal role for an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic registered health professional with demonstrable involvement and interest in resuscitation practice, education and/or the care of deteriorating patients.

You'll be delivering resuscitation training and work with managers and clinicians to optimise the uptake of resuscitation training for all staff groups. You'll also contribute to planning, development and evaluation of educational strategies at the Trust.

This role is being offered as part time (minimum of 22.5 hours per week) however we do have flexibility to offer up to 37.5 hours per week.


Main duties of the job

* Deliver OHFT resuscitation training, to include teaching and assessing small groups using current recognised resuscitation teaching methods during training sessions.
* With the support of the Senior and Lead Resuscitation Officer, participate in the provision of accredited Resuscitation Council (UK) (RCUK) courses in the Trust. In particular RCUK Immediate Life Support (ILS).
* Provide guidance to Trust staff on the level of training required and work with colleagues to ensure these needs are met.
* With the support of the Senior and Lead Resuscitation Officer work with managers and clinicians to optimise the uptake of resuscitation training for all staff groups, in line with Trust policy and to comply with National Guidelines.
* Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of educational strategies for resuscitation, to include the development of training for all disciplines within the Trust.
* Maintain accurate records of all training provided.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Interviews for this role will be held on Friday 17 October. The interview duration will be 60 minutes and the format will include delivering a 15-minute Teaching Session on 'How to perform chest compressions on a manikin' using the 4 stage approach. Equipment will be provided and interviewers will be the people you are teaching.

Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Current NMC, ODP, HCPC, or equivalent professional qualification
* ILS Instructor Potential/ Instructor/ teaching qualification


Desirable criteria

* Current ALS or EPLS/APLS Provider/ instructor certification


Knowledge

* Knowledge of current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines


Experience

* Ongoing involvement in resuscitation training & assessment without supervision
* Ability to use computer skills showing a familiarity with outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.


Desirable criteria

* Involved with training & development of resuscitation trainers
* Able to manage unannounced drills and audit
