Job Summary
To give children healthy foundations in fantastic settings, helping them build the confidence and resilience that will set them up for success later in life.
What You’ll Do
You will provide cover for children as needed, covering holidays, sickness or vacancy gaps. This may involve full days or morning/afternoon sessions. Your day will begin with a planned schedule that often changes; you must pivot quickly and adapt to the ever‑changing needs of children. Creativity is essential: you will lead hands‑on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games to keep young learners engaged. The role requires adherence to EYFS standards while allowing for fresh, innovative activities.
You will support early years education in a setting that values safeguarding and child welfare. All staff (and volunteers) complete compliance checks, including employment references and DBS, before employment.
Qualifications
* Level 2 or above qualified Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar.
* Natural nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and a genuine passion for caring for and supporting young children.
* Experience providing care for children under the age of 5, or demonstration of enthusiasm and values in unqualified candidates.
* Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
* Capacity to reflect Storal values around responsibility, openness and teamwork.
Desirable (but not essential)
* A Level 2 or above qualification within early years.
* Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or working with children under 5.
* Knowledge of EYFS and its application.
* Ability to embody Storal values of responsibility, openness and collaboration.
Benefits
Variable hours (Casual/Bank), full time and part time positions. Salary up to £13.30 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
