* Control and monitor high voltages and power (11 kV to 400 kV and up to 1000 MVA); and
* Are fitted in electricity substations, on overhead power lines, and in control centres.

This role is based 4 days a week in our offices in Swindon with 1 day working from home, if desired. This supports our mental wellbeing, creates stronger teams and helps us to share knowledge and experience and have fun and be happy.
Role Purpose
As our CAD Technician, you will collaborate with a small team to complete Fundamentals Ltd's electrical drafting needs, creating and maintaining electrical drawings to support engineering projects.
As our CAD Technician you would be spending most of your time:
* Design and produce Automatic Voltage Control (AVC) electrical schematics, Wiring diagrams, General Arrangement, Multicore block cable diagrams and any other engineering drawings as required.
* Complete 'Reds & Greens' design alterations to existing (old) format drawings.
* Design control panels, produce general arrangement drawings
* Complete 'As Installed' drawing updates from marked up copies
* Work with the team to have input/maintain our internal DCN database (Design Change Notice)
* Complete time entry for design works completed on company ERP system.
* Attending internal review/meetings with the Customer Delivery Manager and internal stakeholders.
* Opportunity to progress with experience and take on other duties and responsibilities.
Preferred (but not essential) skills and experience:
* Producing electrical designs for substations using AutoCAD Electrical
* General knowledge of electrical engineering and circuit theory
* Creating schematics, wiring diagrams, core and cable schedules, and 2D control panel general arrangements
* AutoCAD Electrical certification
* Hands-on AutoCAD Electrical experience
* Knowledge of Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and/or substation environments
* Demonstrated interest in, or experience with, mechanical and electrical engineering
