Are you a caring, reliable person looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? I am looking for a kind and capable Personal Assistant to support me in my day-to-day life at home.
I’m a 39-year-old parent living with motor neurone disease. Being a mum is the most important part of my life, and I work hard to keep family life as normal as possible. I enjoy spending time with my children, organising the household, keeping in touch with friends, and going to the cinema or theatre when I can.
I use an eye gaze computer to communicate, and over time you will learn to understand me more easily-patience and a willingness to learn are key.
The Role Includes
* Assisting with medication and drinks
* Preparing and cooking a family meal
* Supporting me to eat
* Personal care
* Assisting with transfers using a standing hoist (full training can be provided)
What I’m Looking For
* A kind, patient and dependable individual
* Someone comfortable with personal care tasks
* Good communication skills and willingness to learn alternative communication methods
* Physically capable of assisting with moving and handling (this can include use of equipment on carpeted floors)
* A positive attitude and a supportive approach to family life
Additional Information
Previous care experience is helpful but not essential-what matters most is the right attitude.
There may be an opportunity for additional hours in the future for the right person.
Full guidance and support will be provided to help you settle confidently into the role.
