The School
Xavier College is known for being a school where curiosity, imagination, and love of learning are treasured. Students are nurtured and encouraged to be engaged and committed learners who develop skills in creative and critical thinking, and independent learning. The College motto – ‘For the Greater Good’ – comes from the Latin word ‘Magis’, meaning ‘more’. It challenges students to live out their lives with the greater good as a key consideration. Our patron, St Francis Xavier, used this phrase to mean the universal good, or the better choice.
